Synchronicity is defined as ‘the simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection.’ I decided to interpret slightly differently to the given definition and the first real idea that came to me was to take photos of fruit in the stereotypical way that photographers take images of them but I decided to either add or change certain elements of the image to skew expectations of food photography. I feel that this still fits the word ‘ synchronicity’ as the changes don’t have any connections to the fruit itself however they’re occurring simultaneously. These images that I am creating is my way to challenge generic connotations of photography and try and put my own twist to a genre of photography that is rather generic and lacks the adventure that I am trying to bring to it.
