The first image was taken by me and I chose this as it was a picture promoting Lincoln Castle and it can be found everywhere around the city. Specifically, I decided to focus on the knight in the image as he represents masculinity which I tried to contrast with the femininity of the flowers beside the picture. I feel that by appropriating this image I have completely changed the feel of the original image and put a spin on the connotations on knights and warriors.
The second image was my favourite taken by someone else as to me I felt like this shop front was being used to bring some trees and nature to the city centre. However, the nature shown was nothing more than a billboard and far from real. By the way this has been appropriated you would believe that this is what Lincoln typically looks like as Lincoln is in the corner of the image that is just trees and greenery.
