We were set a task where we had to take portraits of people that we found and either chose three photos for a collection of the same person or choose a different person for each photo. After taking photos of many subjects I decided to stick to one subject. I decided not to give my subject any prompts and I allowed them to take whatever stance they wanted as long as they were relaxed and comfortable for the photo.
This was the first image that I believed best shown off the subject. I felt like the background of the leaves was perfect for my images so I later decided to keep this for all three images which further pushed the three photos as a series rather than three separate images. I felt like the greenery was the perfect contrast to the subjects lightly coloured coat and ginger hair. The subject seemed to be comfortable in front of a camera which was great as it added a sense of professionalism to the images.
These are the two other I chose to use in my series of images. My subject seemed to grow even more in confidence the more photos I took as she started to face the camera more and relaxed some more. I like the lighting in these three images as I feel that it really lights up my subject especially against the dark background. The lighting in these images is natural lighting, however, I was tempted to use a reflector, however, I quickly realised that would be unnecessary. The wind in her hair also adds another dynamic to these images as they look more dramatic.
